The NET

HRT bus route 17 is commonly known as the NET, or Norfolk Electric Transit. Once a complimentary service provided by the City of Norfolk, the NET is now part of the local bus network. The weekday route accommodates the needs of commuters by connecting downtown, the Cedar Grove transfer center to Ghent via Monticello Avenue, 21st Street and Colley Avenue. It costs $1.50 per ride on The NET.
NET service is divided between connections to downtown and Cedar Grove, and between Ghent and downtown.

NET Schedule:
Weekday – Cedar Grove to Downtown
- Monday through Friday 6:05 am to 6:10 pm - 15 minute frequency
- 6:10 pm – 11:15 pm – 30-minute frequency
Weekday – EVMC/Ft. Norfolk to Downtown
- Monday through Friday 7 am – 10 am – 30 minute frequency
- 4:05 pm to 9:30 pm (Midnight on Friday’s) – 30 minute frequency
Saturday – Cedar Grove to downtown
- 6 am – 12:15 am – 30 Minute frequency
Saturday – EVMC/Ft. Norfolk
- 10 am to Midnight – 30 minute frequency
Sunday – Cedar Grove to Downtown
- 7 am to 10:45 pm – 30 minute frequency
Sunday – EVMC/Ft. Norfolk to Downtown
- 12 pm to 9 pm – 30 minuter frequency
