Governing Board

The Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads, HRT’s governing body, consists of representatives from each of the six cities it serves.

Commission Meetings:

A meeting of the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads Board of Commissioners will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. 1st Floor Board Room, 1500 Monticello Ave, Norfolk, Virginia.

The meeting is open to the public, but in accordance with the Board’s operating procedures and in compliance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, there shall be no opportunity for public comment at this meeting.

Standing Committees:

Audit/Budget Review Committee

The Audit/Budget Review Committee reviews financial statements and performance reports concerning actual expenses and revenues relative to the annual budget on a quarterly basis. It refers those reports to the full Commission.

Planning and New Starts Development Committee

The Planning and New Starts Development Committee works with the President/CEO to provide policy and direction on the development of HRT’s major initiatives. The committee normally meets each quarter (January, April, July and October) on the date of the regularly scheduled Commission meeting.

***The next Planning and New Starts Development Committee meeting will take place on February 23, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the first floor boardroom at HRT-1500 Monticello Ave. Norfolk.

Operations and Oversight Committee

The Operations & Oversight Committee works with the President/CEO to oversee and monitor HRT’s operational performance relative to quality and efficiency. The committee meets the second Friday of each month, with the exceptions of November and December when it meets the first Friday of the month.

***The next Operations and Oversight Committee meeting will take place on February 10, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. at HRT-1500 Monticello Ave. Norfolk.

Commission Effectiveness Committee

The Commission Effectiveness Committee is an ad-hoc committee that holds meetings at the request of the Commission chair.
