Hampton Roads Transit

HRT recently completed its strategic planning process with the development of an agency strategic and business plan. Both plans were voted on and passed as policy by the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads (HRT’s governing body). Together, they will serve as roadmaps for the organization’s success as a provider of regional public transportation services with the overall goal of improving the quality of life in the Hampton Roads region.

The strategic plan is a policy tool and identifies HRT’s critical goals, actions needed to accomplish these goals, and a systematic monitoring program to measure progress. It contains performance measures that will be regularly reported to the TDCHR. These performance measures will allow the agency to both monitor and measure its success. The business plan will be used as an internal tool that will provide measures for forecasting and planning by department. Click here for the business plan.
